Vincent Glinsky's Art Deco-Mesopotamian Lobby — Fred French Building, New York — 1927

From the Fred French Building — NYC Art Deco Series.

An immersive decorative program where polychrome ceilings, gilded bronze, and marble converge in unrelenting ornament.

Vincent Glinsky painted the barrel-vaulted ceilings in gold, black, and bold color, depicting Middle Eastern and Babylonian mythological figures: dragons, bulls, lions, and winged griffins inspired by ancient Mesopotamian relics like the Ishtar Gate.

Architecture by H. Douglas Ives — Decorative program by Vincent Glinsky.
