The Tyrolese Archduke Ferdinand of Habsburg amassed a diverse collection of art and wonders at his castle in Ambras, near Innsbruck, which astounded his contemporaries. His primary focus was on the armory, where he collected the armor worn in battle by the most renowned knights of the era.
